Growing up surrounded by family and forging friendships that have stood the test of time, my story unfolds from the familiar streets of my childhood to the boundless possibilities of the virtual world. Born and raised in Kent, I spent my formative years in the comforting embrace of my family - Mum, Dad, and sister. It was the moments shared with them and my grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins that enriched my upbringing. As I navigated through two local schools, forging enduring friendships along the way, I discovered a passion for social media and content creation, which laid the foundation for my future endeavours.
Going to Cornwallis for secondary school marked a pivotal moment in my life. Amidst familial changes and academic pursuits, I found solace and expression in the digital realm. Launching my own YouTube channel and exploring the world of blogging, I realised my affinity for creative expression and digital communication. Despite the adversity of traditional education, I found myself drawn to avenues that allowed me to chart my own path.
At the age of 18, I embarked on my first job at Morrisons supermarket, where I manned the checkouts for a few years. Over the years, I transitioned to the Deli department, honing my skills in customer service and team management. As I navigated the challenges of the workplace, I embraced my entrepreneurial spirit, venturing into budgeting tutorials on YouTube and crafting engaging social media content.
Amidst the highs of creative exploration, I encountered my share of setbacks. Diagnosed with Hemiplegic Migraines, I grappled with daily pain while juggling professional responsibilities. Despite the adversity, I found respite in my passion for content creation and digital engagement. However, as workplace conditions deteriorated and management turned a blind eye, I realised the need for change.
In July 2022, fuelled by a desire for autonomy, I took the leap into the world of virtual assistance. Liberated from the confines of traditional employment, I embraced the opportunity to support businesses and individuals in a dynamic and flexible capacity. With determination and grit, I bid farewell to my tenure at Morrisons in December 2022, embracing the role of a full-time Virtual Assistant with open arms.
As I reflect on my journey from the supermarket to virtual assistance, I am filled with gratitude for the lessons learned and the growth experienced. While the path was not without its challenges, each obstacle served as a stepping stone towards personal and professional fulfilment. Today, as I embark on this new chapter, I am humbled by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others through my work as a Virtual Assistant.
